Blood Pressure and Radial Pulse
In this activity, you will be provided with an opportunity to take
the blood pressure and radial pulse of a person in various states of exertion.
Each test will provide you with:
- a stopwatch, or sphygmomanometer
- visual and aural queues to help monitor heartrate, and systolic/diastolic pressure
- a multiple choice question to record your results
Recommendations:
- Record your preliminary results on a sheet of paper.
- Choose the closest possible answer from the list.
- When taking the heartrate, use pencil and paper to mark each beat for 15 seconds.
- Don't forget to multiply your heartrate by four. (beats in fifteen seconds)*4
